Megan 5th Birthday Party!!!

We celebrated Megan's birthday on Saturday with the family. What a blast Megan had. It was sunny and warm (thank goodness), so everyone could be outside. I still cannot believe she is 5 already. On Wednesday of this week she graduates from preschool. Earlier in the day Megan had a soccer game scored the winning goal for her team! Yeah Meg!! That makes 5 goals for this season... What an all-star!

Happy 5th Birthday Megan!!!

Today my baby is 5 years old. I cannot believe it. Before I know it, it will be September and she will be getting on a bus for Kindergarten. I get misty eyed just thinking about it. It seems as if she was just born.

She called me on the phone a little while ago and asked me what time she was born. Now....what would make a 5 year old wonder what time she was born? It stunned me...

Megan: Mom, what time was I born?
Me: 9:27 at night
Megan: Mom...then I am NOT 5 yet, it is not nighttime
Me: Yes, you are b/c today is your birthday
Megan: Mom, what time is my party today?
Me: Megan, your party is tomorrow, but your birthday is today
Megan: So, I am not 5 til tomorrow
Me: No....today you are 5, tomorrow we have your party with your presents
Megan: Mom...I want waffles

LOL...I was dying laughing b/c she went from birthday stuff to all of a sudden wanting waffles. She is so priceless... We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She makes me smile everyday all day. I love you baby!

Memorial Day Weekend

Taylor' soccer team was in a big soccer tournament most of the weekend on and off. They ended up winning the championship! Yeah Taylor!!

For the rest of the weekend, I opened our pool (which took ALL day Sunday) and got that going. What a chore. Of course I had my little helper Megan. Now it should be all set for her birthday parties this weekend. I cannot believe she will be 5 in two more days...

Monday, we all went to my mom's house for the day. We took my niece Abby and my nephew Justin. They had a ball! The weather was 80 and sunny! They did a ton of tubing, canoeing, and swimming in the freezing cold water. I, however, was not that brave LOL....

Happy 6th Anniversary!

Yes, it has been 6 years since Jon and I married!! Boy, have these flown by. For those of you that don't know, Jon and Taylor are my stepkids. Megan is ours. My husband has full custody of Jon and Taylor and they live with us full-time. They see their mom once in a great while when she feels like mothering them for a night or two. So, when we married, I entered into a ready made family. I wouldn't change it for one second. Yes, there are many trying times, but what marriage/family doesn't have them??

Jon jr. ended up having a lacrosse tournament in Lansing all weekend, so we got a hotel room the night before our anniversary with Jon and my nephew Justin who plays lacrosse as well. It was nice, they are old enough to go and do things on their own without us. We got a lot of alone time. Also, when I got home from work Friday night, there was a beautiful vase of flowers on the kitchen table with a gold bracelet with rubies in it. I WAS SHOCKED!! I was so proud, he even got me my gift two days early! I love it! I will post pictures of it later on... Have a good day!
