Wow! October is here....

Well...Taylor had a great birthday last night. She got gift cards, money, and clothes from Aeropostale. Very stylin'! She had her friend Melissa over for cake and ice cream and presents. Papa Don also came over bearing gifts. Her big family party is going to be Saturday night after her soccer game.

Speaking of soccer games, Taylor's soccer team is 4-0 as of right now! Go Thunder!! Very exciting season we are having. Such great parents and girls.

Megan is also playing soccer and doing very well. She has scored 5 goals in 4 games. Yeah Megan!! She is adjusting very well to Kindergarten. We had some brief moments where she cried every morning getting on the bus.

Jon is doing great with his leg, bummer he is on crutches for 4 more weeks yet. It will be 16 weeks total for the crutches once he is done. He is healing well, but the femur is a thick bone to heal.

Have a good night!

Update!!

Little J went to the doctor today about his leg. Good news and bad news. First, good news...He is healing very well. Bad news...He didn't do his exercises and stretches like I have been nagging him about constantly and now he has to go through physical therapy. Lovely! And...he is still on crutches for 4 more weeks. Ugh! What a nasty break this has been for him. Thank goodness he is healing so well though. That is all that matters in the end.

Below are a few cute pictures of the girls messing around in the front yard the other night. I had to take a picture because they actually were getting along for a good 15 minutes!!

Sports Already??!!

I cannot believe this summer is almost over already. Taylor has started her soccer practices and games and Megan is not far behind her. Unfortunately Jon will not be in any sports this fall with this leg. He is hoping to have it healed to do wrestling in the winter. We will see! It will not break my heart if he doesn't do that again.

Jon saw his orthopedic specialist last week and she said he is healing well. One thing they are watching though, is his bones have shifted a tiny bit. If they move anymore, they will have to go in, rebreak his leg, and put a metal plate in to prevent any more moving or shifting. Yuck! I hope this doesn't happen. So keep your fingers crossed until his next appt next week!

The girls wanted their haircut the other night and they both ended up with the cutest cuts. They both talked me into cutting their hair to their shoulders. Megan ended up getting 5 inches cut off and Taylor ended up getting 6 inches cut off. They are both thrilled with it. Isn't it amazing what a simple haircut can do for their self image. Megan has been walking around the house flipping her hair around. Too funny!

Happy Friday!

End of July????!!!

Wow! What a fast summer. I cannot believe it is end of July. I guess it didn't help that we went on vacation for 10 days. That probably sped the summer up a bit. Vacations fly by so fast. We went to Traverse City, MI and camped for 10 days with our good friends and their kids. We had so much fun on the beach, went wine tasting (got a little tipsy!), had campfires and celebrated my birthday! Now I am back to work, kids are back to their social life, and Jon is back to working and coaching soccer for Taylor. I will post pictures of vacation as soon as I upload them from the camera.

Jon has his 20th class reunion this weekend. I am really not looking forward to going. I know NO ONE! Ok...maybe one person, but that could be pushing it if she doesn't go! I don't know what to wear either. Do we dress up, stay casual? No clue here.... Ugh!

Other news....Little Jon broke his leg 5 days before vacation. He broke his femur riding his dirt bike around our yard. We had to call an ambulance b/c I didn't know if his neck and back were hurt. He hit the guide wire that comes down off of the telephone pole. So so scary. He is ok though. He had emergency surgery and got 2 rods put into his leg. So, vacation for him probably wasn't the greatest, but his friends and best friend took great care of him and made sure to do things that he could be involved in. Jon is still on crutches and will be until school starts. What a bummer for him! and so scary for his dad and I!!!

Have a good day everyone!

Highly Recommend...

I was reading one of my daily blog reads on The Ross Family. I have been following Lindsay's post for a while now. She put these two blogs up on her site and boy, did they make me cry me eyes out while here at work.

www.adailyscoop.blogspot.com
www.sheyerosemeyer.blogspot.com

The first site is about a little girl who fell in the hottub at home and the other is about a 3 year old little girl who crawled into the family car on a hot day and by the time the parents found her, she was unconcious. Both of these really made me step back and think and really cherish my kids even though they drive me nuts sometimes. I was watching my daughter sleep last night and I started crying thinking that I don't know what I would do if she wasn't in my life. Words can't explain the devestation of not having Jon, Taylor, or Megan in my life. Thanks Lindsay for the recommendations.

It's July Already??!!

Oh my gosh....Where has this summer gone already? And what a rainy, rainy summer it has been. Here in Michigan, we have had a TON of rain constantly. I want warm weather, I will even take humid, BUT NO MORE RAIN.

Anyways, we are going on vacation in 8 more days! We are going to go camping for 10 days at Traverse City. We went there last year and had a blast. This year we are going with family friends, should be even more fun. I can't wait to get away and do nothing and have no plans for 10 whole days. And...the best part is...the day we come back is my birthday! I love my birthday, love, love, love it! If only I could get Jon to understand this!!

I have been playing soccer twice a week on an adult outdoor league. It has been fun and great exercise. I have also been doing training here at work to start a new part of my job. Can you say unlimited Overtime??!! Once I get back from vacation the OT will start. I bet we will be needed money after vacation...

Long Time No Post!

We have been bussssy! Sports are finally winding down for the kids. Megan and Jon are done with lacrosse and soccer. Taylor has her softball playoffs tonight, but is done with soccer. I don't see her team making it much further than tonight or Thursday at the latest.

We are going camping this weekend with the kids. About 25 minutes from our house. It is a beautiful state park. We are having a lot of our nieces and nephews stay with us. This weekend is supposed to be 80 and Sunny! Yeah!!

Kids are out of school finally! Taylor had a graduation ceremony because she is moving up a school. She won an award for physical education called the National Physical Fitness Award. She also won an award for having perfect attendance this year. Yeah Taylor!

I will post pics of Megan's friend birthday party as soon as I get them transferred over!

Back to training class...Here we go!
